Visitors beware.....

Thea got her first tooth in yesterday and is ready to start using it on anything or anyone. Very exciting and might explain her recent fever she was having and extra sleeping. It takes a lot out of a baby to push that first tooth through. One down.....many more to come, that's for sure.

Last week Thea was sick again. Fever of 103 and a nose that wouldn't stop running. She can practically hear the kleenex being pulled from the box and starts to flinch just thinking of the impending swipe that is about to happen. The best way for Thea to get rid of a cold is for her to give it to someone else, which she has done. Both Chris and I also have the sniffles and I actually lost my voice so Thea's been doing all the talking for me. And not surprisingly, it's the same babble.

Hope all is well on your end. Once we can get a photo of the tooth we will surely post it.

another step closer to crawling....

Thea has been keeping busy eating her sweet potatoes, avacado or rice cereal. Next up is squash and we will keep you posted on her likes and dislikes. So far she has been a fan of everything.

Thea's newest trick is sitting up for long stretchs at a time. She isn't crawling--only spinning around on her tummy to get things but you can she is thinking about crawling....she just hasn't figured it out quite yet.

The dogs have been kind to her too. They keep trying share their toys with her and are always close by her (see 1/2 of Kylie above)

Happy New Year!

Nothing like starting the New Year off on the right foot and posting to the blog! That's one of my resolutions.....More postings! And Chris and I have a few resolutions, too, which are suprisingly very similar to Thea's. How so, you ask? Well, while Chris and I plan to do more "sit ups" each day, Thea would like to learn how to do one sit up on her own. And while Chris and I plan on eating better in 2007 (more fruits and veggies)--Thea, too, plans on learning to eat (which will include fruits and veggies like Mommy and Daddy). "Breastmilk is so 2006", says Thea. And finally, Chris and I (mostly Chris) will drop the occasional "Damn it" here and "Oh S**t" there and we need to curb that. So I guess watching our language is also on our resolution list while Thea would like to learn any and all words this coming year. She'll start simple but we want to make sure that some of our words don't make it into her vocab.

This picture is of Thea eating sweet potatoes. Chris and I are going to make Thea's baby food so this was the first "batch". And thanks to the fancy Food Mill that my mom bought me for a baby shower gift, it was super easy.

The other photo is Thea in her first "big" snow storm. The last snow we got really didn't last long enough to take a photo of her outside in it so we attempted it with this one. And she is wearing her cousin Kendall's snow suit. Don't let her "thought bubble" fool you, she really loved it.
